Gag - disgusting Romney photo op
Edited on Tue Jul-11-06 03:05 PM by WildEyedLiberal

Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, left, and Lt. Gov. Kerry Healey leave after inspecting a portion of a Big Dig tunnel Tuesday, July 11, 2006, in Boston where cement slabs fell late Monday night, crushing a passing car and killing a woman and injuring her husband. (AP Photo/Bizuayehu Tesfaye)

2. Don't you love those official orange safety vests?
That ranks right up there with Brownie's rolled-up sleeves in terms of jaw-dropping callous photo-opping in the face of horrible disaster. :grr:

3. Did a slab of cement fall? Answer this:

4. That's a good point, ProSense
Where ARE the hardhats? Those vests certainly aren't going to keep a cement slab at bay.

5. Someone should
send him a copy of the photo and indicate that he didn't follow proper safety procedures.

6. Mitt was counting on his hair to do that.
Edited on Tue Jul-11-06 08:44 PM by TayTay
It usually is dense enough to stop speeding bullets and locomotives. I'm sure a 9 ton slab of concrete would be no problem for Mitt-hair.

On the other hand, Mitt was clearly rattled today. There were several hairs out of place when he did his media availabilities. That denotes that Mitt was actually working. (Wonder which aide got the job of remembering where the Tunnel was? Mitt has been too busy in places like Iowa, south Carolina and New Hampshire to attend to much in Mass these past few months. It's a wonder he was able to locate Boston at all.)

By the way, Barbie did a nice job of maintaining that 'deer caught in the headlights' look that she has mastered. Did someone say, 'out of her league' here? (Barbie's Town House is in Beverly, she simply looks like she's slumming whenever she comes to Boston.)

7. I do think the high heels are a nice touch.
In time of crisis, you should always put your best foot forward. Just ask Condi.

9. I think he did sweat
OMG, other Gov's don jeans and workboots to pitch in during a disaster. Our man Mitt put on an orange safety vest and, to show solidarity with the sufferings of others, didn't bring his comb in with him that day. What a guy!

11. It's the Cod Squad (no offense to Cod)
Edited on Sun Jul-16-06 09:25 PM by Island Blue
Is that Kerry Healy in the middle? Why is she not wearing a day-glow vest? Is she afraid it will clash with her outfit, or has she discovered that she just naturally repels whatever it is the vests are meant to repel? (Which I think would be Massachusetts voters.)

12. Yes, that's Barbie!
Obviously she has Barbie's Construction Worker outfit on today. lso, notice how she always has to walk 4 or 5 paces behind Mittens. Arrrrgggghhh!

At least she's wearing 'sensible shoes' today.
