Most of the conflicts of the past 88 years or so can be traced back to the treaties made after the first World War. While one can definely say that the war itself changed the world forever in that it changed warfare's technology and tactics. You can make the argument that it was the post war treaties made that shaped the 20th century and the 21st century from that point on. Makes me wonder what Woodrow Wilson would think if he were here today.
