Counterpunch... they're quoting Counterpunch against McAuliffe
I'm sorry. I just can't take Counterpunch seriously, regardless of how right or wrong they might be about Terry McA.

Why can't they see, if we're going to take Counterpunch's word on him, then we should also take Counterpunch's word on Dean, Kerry, Kusinich, Clark et al. No cherrypicking. It's either a credible source, or it's not.

1. i remember when Republicans used it to attack McAuliffe
because the Democrats were going after Bush on the Enron and other corporate scandals . so Republicans tried to bring up the global crossing thing. but there was no comparison there.

it's like Republicans trying to bring the race issue up on the Condi Rice and Gonzales confirmations. it has nothing to do with race and they know it but they just want to avoid the actual arguments and disputes which are being made.

3. It's an internet political newsletter
http://www.counterpunch.com/

I was going to say they're progressive, but I think leftist fits better. If you've seen smear pieces on Dean, some of them probably came from here. If you do a search, you'll find anti-Dean articles, anti-Kerry, anti-Edwards, pro-Nader and almost pro-Kusinich articles.

During the election proper, they called those who were supporting Kerry and not Nader "Zombies for Kerry."

I called them a leftist freeper magazine. Someone last night used them to back up their feelings against McAliffe. I don't feel one way or the other about the man, but there must be more credible sources a person could quote if they want to indict him.

My answer to the poster was to point out, since I was pretty sure the person was a Dean person, that there were anti-Dean articles on the site too, and if they considered the one article credible, I'd have to consider the anti-Dean article credible.

I don't have alot of patience with this magazine, about as much patience as I have for Nader anymore.

4. I'm so tired of these lefty holier than thou types
Nader can talk up the wazoo about how Dems are sell outs, but what about him accepting all that Republican money? What about him swinging closes races in crucial states like NM to Bush?

"Zombies for Kerry..." Arrgh, just bite me Counterpunch. I'm a bi woman who wants solid pro-choice, pro-gay candidate who actually does things (like Kerry and Dean) and not some queer pandering sell-out like Nader.

As a loving Kucitizen, I'd like to point out that Kucinich supported Kerry to the point that he speechified for him at the DNC. I love Kucinich because he is a good Democrat, very, very liberal, but a Democrat through and through. Some Kucitizens want to call him a green liberal, but Kucinich calls himself "a Wellstone Democrat." So there, you lefty freepers.

5. I remember when "The Closer" made his first appearance toward the end
of the campaign, an article quoted Kucinich, a big smile on his face, as saying, "Mark the day folks." He said that Kerry was the best closer in the business.

I like to think that's still true. Maybe the finish line is just farther down the road than we realized.

6. Yep, he may still close out
and good Dems like Kucinich would still support him.
