Prayer vigil for Terri Schiavo

Most merciful Jesus, lover of souls, I pray you by the agony of your most sacred heart, and by the sorrows of your Immaculate Mother, to wash in your most Precious Blood the sinners of the world who are now in their agony, and who will die today.

Heart of Jesus, once in agony, have mercy on the dying.

Jesus, Mary and Joseph, assist Teresa in her last agony, and grant that she may breath forth her soul in peace with you. I ask this in Your Holy Name.

Amen.

May the Lord ease the pain of all those who are dying and give comfort to all those who mourn them.

May the Lord lead us all to a better understanding of the mysteries of life and death.

the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

May He deliver her from eternal death.
May Christ Jesus, the Son of the living God, place her in the ever blooming garden of His paradise; and may He, the true Shepherd, own her for one of His flock.
May He wash away all our sins, and place her at His right hand, in the company of His elect.
May it be her happiness to behold her Redeemer face to face; to be ever in His presence, in the blessed vision of that Eternal Truth which is the joy of the elect. And thus placed among those happy spirits, may she be forever filled with heavenly delights.

hyper-focusing on Terri Schiavo when we could have used that energy to save Sun Hudson and those like him whose Cerebral Cortex's are still intact (have a chance for cognition).

Dear Lord, please forgive us for our self-righteous pride that gets in the way of your beautiful gifts of compassion and mercy? May I humble myself to be your true servant and better serve the poor and suffering souls of this world. Amen

Dear Saint Stanislaus , angel of purity and sepaph of charity, I rejoice with you at your most happy death, which arose from your desire to contemplate our Lady in heaven, and was at length caused by the excess of your love for her. I give thanks to Mary because she thus accomplished your desires; and I pray you, by the luster of your happy death, to be Terri's advocate and patron in her death. Intercede with Mary for her to obtain for her a death, if not all happiness like yours, yet calm and peaceful, under the protection of Mary our mother, and of you, our special patron. Amen.

who dost correct those whom Thou dost love, and for their betterment dost tenderly chastise those whom Thou dost receive, we call upon Thee, O Lord, to grant Thy healing, that the soul of Thy servant, Teresa Marie, at the hour of its departure from the body, may by the hands of Thy holy Angels be presented without spot unto Thee. We ask you to intercede with our brother, Jesus, to send His saving grace to heal the sickness and suffering of ours sister Teresa Marie, to uplift her despondent spirits, and to instill hope in her heart. Amen."

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the Beginning, is now, and ever shall be, World without end, Amen.

Foster father of Jesus, look upon your beloved daughter Teresa, and be with her and protect her in these, her final hours on Earth. Care for her lovingly and tenderly and watch over her as her guardian and protector against the Evil One and his minions. Intercede for her, that her final journey may come to pass without fear, but confidently and peacefully in the knowledge of her coming renunion with our Lord, Jesus Christ. These things I ask in His name.

free you from the death that never ends.

May Christ the Son of the living God

set you in the ever green loveliness of His Paradise,

recognize you as one of His own.

With strength from Our Father, you stood by the cross sharing your Son's suffering; with tender care you bore him in your arms mourning and weeping after the thing was done. On the third day, He showed himself to you, that you should know the good news and rejoice.

May we follow your example and stand by your daughter Teresa in this, her time of trial, caring for her, her husband and her family as you cared for your Son. Pray for us all, dear Mother, now and at the hour of our deaths.

You come across to me as a witty and caring person. I hope you will consider returning to discuss each other's foundations of beliefs in a non-threatening way?

I'm not too proud (but a little embarrassed) to admit that there have been times over the past week where this "Terri Shiavo tragedy" has brought out the WORST in my potentially "feisty" personality. :(

I think many of us feel extremely passionately about aspects of this case. Unfortunately, I believe that sometimes it's hard to listen fully and truly give one another basic respect because of the sheer intensity of our sentiments. Just my theory.

having difficulty understanding that this is a prayer thread, a "Prayer Vigil for Terri Schiavo" as the header indicates.

That means it's a place to post prayers for Terri Schiavo as she nears death, not a place to advance your own opinions about the Schiavo case, just to pray for Terri and those who will mourn her.
