6. Me too.
I also came out as St. Justin Martyr. The site said,

You have a positive and hopeful attitude toward the world. You think that nature, history, and even the pagan philosophers were often guided by God in preparation for the Advent of the Christ. You find “seeds of the Word” in unexpected places. You’re patient and willing to explain the faith to unbelievers.

8. I'm Origen.
"You do nothing by half-measures. If you’re going to read the Bible, you want to read it in the original languages. If you’re going to teach, you’re going to reach as many souls as possible, through a proliferation of lectures and books. If you’re a guy and you’re going to fight for purity … well, you’d better hide the kitchen shears."

I have to admit, I always thought he was probably the most brilliant of the Christian fathers. Too bad he went rogue.

9. Same here. He didn't go "rogue". His bishop/patriarch was at fault, from what I read.

I must have another look at the whys and wherefores on Google. But in any case, it was a taradiddle. He is still revered as a Father of the Church, at the highest levels. Certainly more than that bishop.

When he was a toddler, his father, Leonidas, who was also martyred, used to go up to his bedroom when he was a sleep and put his ear next to his heart, to hear it beating! I mean I don't think he was fearful that it had stopped, like mothers often do. He must just have been such a loving child, and Leonidas nuts about him.

10. St Melito of Sardis.
"You have a great love of history and liturgy. You’re attached to the traditions of the ancients, yet you recognize that the old world — great as it was — is passing away. You are loyal to the customs of your family, though you do not hesitate to call family members to account for their sins."

I confess - I never heard of him before.
