Something I've been wondering about

We all know about the various people who've been insisting that any Catholic politician who either supports abortion or doesn't feel it's his or her place to vote to ban the practice should be denied communion, along with anyone else who doesn't subscribe to their ideology. We all know about the likes of Archbishop Burke too.

With the release of the torture memos, I wonder if any of these people - either clergy or laity - will be calling for Catholic politicians who publicly support torture to not receive communion? I wonder if Archbishop Burke and his ilk will come out and say that those Catholic politicians who support torture should not receive communion?

Obviously I'm not going to hold my breath here waiting for that to happen.

BTW, it's past due to challenge the notion that anyone who opposes outlawing abortion, i.e. imposing criminal penalties, equals supporting abortion.
