Our Father, who art in Heaven
Edited on Tue Feb-01-05 07:03 PM by pres2032
Hallowed be thy name
Thy Kingdom Come, Thy will be done
On Earth as it is in Heaven
Give us this day, our daily bread
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us
and lead us not into temptation
and deliever us from evil

Hail Mary, Full of grace
the Lord is with you
Blessed are thou among women
and blessed is the fruit of your womb
Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God
Pray for us sinners
now and at the hour of our death,
Amen.

Let's start a prayer chain for Pope John Paul II

2. so do i
i have a paper to write and i'll be in no condition to write it if he dies. I just hope that he doesn't have to suffer for too much longer. He's secured his place in heaven.

5. Bless and comfort your servant, oh Lord!
O Father of mercies and God of all comfort, our only help in time of need: We humbly beseech thee to behold, visit and relieve thy sick servant John Paul for whom our prayers are desired. Look upon him with the eyes of thy mercy; comfort him with a sense of thy goodness; preserve him from the temptations of the enemy; and give him patience under his affliction. In thy good time, restore him to health, and enable him to lead the residue of his life in thy fear, and to thy glory; and grant that finally he may dwell with thee in life everlasting; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

I was actually fortunate to see Pope John Paul II when he came to Washington, DC in 1979 (?). My dearest friend's father was a Knight of Malta and he sat on the dais with the Pope. It was an inspiring event. I have pictures of the visit around this mess somewhere, when I find them, I will post them.

15. Amen,,
I also seen the Pope in '97 in Rome in one of his weekly audiences, along with 30 thousand other catholics, though he passed within 10ft of me and I was able to snap a picture of him giving me (yes me) his blessing.

14. Anima Christi
Soul of Christ, sanctify me.
Body of Christ, save me.
Blood of Christ, inebriate me.
Water from Christ's side, wash me.
Passion of Christ, strengthen me.
O good Jesus, hear me.
Within Thy wounds hide me.
Suffer me not to be separated from Thee.
From the malicious enemy defend me.
In the hour of my death call me
And bid me come unto Thee,
That I may praise Thee with Thy saints
and with Thy angels
Forever and ever.
Amen.
