Good Things, along with Tobin, for all.
I've mentioned that my daughter, age 21, studing elem+spec ed in college, saw her doc recently. Having been away, she'd not seen the doc for some years, and has been unable to sleep well, and moody, and subject to illnesses.

I thought it was probably because she hasn't used thyroid meds for years, tho diagnosed with Hashimoto's disease. I gave her some of my thyroid meds to help until she could see the doc, and she felt much better. Surprising us, her doc suggested she use Rhodiola and Melatonin instead of a prescription, and she's been using such for about a week.

She feels wonderful! Had the best conversation with her today! She says EVERYONE should use this stuff! So I want to pass it on here. I'm thinking of asking MY doc what she'd think if I tried to use it instead of effexor for depression.

Check it out. LOTS of links available.

1. I've used both for years. Never had a truly noticible improvement with them
but it's good that your daughter is getting positive results-especially from a couple of supplements instead of products from Big Pharma!

2. Interesting.
Sorry no noticeable improvements. I read comments about very significant improvements somewhere.

3. the benefits rarely last
i have heard lots of people who felt better with some herbal remedy, but after a few weeks or maybe a few months, they were back where they were. double blind studies always come up short.
i sure wouldn't quit a drug that is working for you to take something like this, and i am not sure i would trust a doc that would think it was a good idea.
just me, tho.

4. Not planning on quitting effexor,
esp since I've heard so many bad things about those trying to do so. No doc has suggested I do so; I got the thought of asking MY doc, who is not same doc as daughter's. If I were to do this, I'd be VERY careful.

Thanks for your advice, mop, which is sound, as usual!
