How are you all doing this holiday season?
I know this is a rough time of year for a lot of people. Throw in coping with mental health issues at the same time and it can be very stressful. I know I used to hate this time of year. My family really gets into Christmas and everybody is usually very happy, but I didn't want any part of it. Not because I didn't want to be happy, it's just that I couldn't be, and being around all of them somehow made the situation worse. I just wanted to be left alone.

I'm doing good this year. I just have to buy one more gift and it looks like I'm not going to have any problem being home for all of the parties. This looks like it's going to be the happiest Christmas for me since I was a kid. It's been a long time coming.

3. that's awesome. love will do that to you.
so happy for you, my friend.

things around here will be sad, but i think in a way they might be better. we seem to get along better now that the old power struggles have been settled. sort of the weightlessness of nothing left to loose.
2 of my kids will be gone on christmas, visiting their so's families. that will be pretty strange. they are starting to scatter. there might only be one kid left come september, depending on college choices. and that kid will be looking to go somewhere out of town/state for his 3rd year.
part of me is very sad, and part of me is looking forward to some solitude. it is a big house to rattle around in, tho.
