Ths thread is fucking cruel

anyone who had dissociative disorders or DID beware this thread is just evil it's like the FMSF is alive. So,sybil was FICTION.It's a book after all,and books are sold for profit..Duh'oh.
I am so sick of people saying DID is fake it isn't,and perpetuating such crap on DU and then being cruel about it is just terrible.
I hate people sometimes ALOT.

1. My ignore list is well populated with usernames who've
made insensitive comments about mental illness. It gets longer and longer, and then I think maybe I've been unfair and I clear it. Within a month it's too long again.

Invalidation hurts. It's an injustice much as convicting an innocent person.

2. It is good that you stuck up for yourself in that thread.
Too many people come here to make short, snappy answers that make everyone LOL.

Not everything is a joke.

3. Yeah. I was surprised as to the ignorance from some
I thought this was more of a tolerant crowd? Just goes to show you what awful stigma and ignorance Mental Health issues are STILL up against. Pretty sad.

Interesting that you mention that awful False Memory Syndrome Foundation. I thought that had kind of finally went by the wayside...but you know what's interesting? Sometimes when I am searching (Foxfire) on google about subject matter related to abuse and memories and triggers etc...all of a sudden? hits on the very first page include not only the FMSF...(which never used to happen before) but also a lot of slanted christian-type stuff as well, which leads me to believe...HAD I NOT KNOWN about the BS perpetuated by the FMSF...I would be inclined to consider it (thus adding MORE confusion and self-doubt). Yeah. EXACTLY what someone needs who is trying to research this stuff! :sarcasm:

It wasn't always like that. In fact, it is only recently that I have noticed this. Maybe this ties into something I read - oh what was it - a few months back or so (maybe longer?) - about google changing the algorithms and that folks who searched for stuff along what could be considered a *liberal* slant were given search results which differed from a more conservative base and that this was proven by having a *liberal* versus a *conservative* search for the same exact thing and given entirely different results. Do you remember reading about that?

Yeah. Fricking SCARY!!!! Especially given the fact that most folks who search for this kind of information are probably not all that up-to-date on these algorithm changes...and can you just imagine HOW MUCH MORE THAT messes with their heads???????????
