I feel tremendously wonderful
I gave up smoking 4 weeks ago and I quit drinking 4.5 weeks ago. I smoked 1.5 packs a day for 16 years and before I quit drinking I was really starting to get into that quite heavily as well. The day before I quit smoking I bought a membership to the YMCA and I've worked out every day since then. I weighed 277 when I started and now I'm down to 266. A couple of weeks ago I also started eating at home more and I cut out the fast food. I'd been eating out every day for the past year. I really watch what I eat now.

Not only has my body been feeling better, but my mental state has improved as well. I wasn't really feeling too bad before mentally speaking, but I had sort of developed a fatalistic attitude about things. Now I feel positive and full of hope. I feel so good that I thought that my mania might be coming back, but I'm not having any delusional thoughts so everything is okay.

I never knew clean living could be this much fun. Try it out and see if you don't feel the same if you are currently doing bad stuff to your body.

Oh, and I'm still taking psychiatric meds. Geodon, lithium, Wellbutrin, and benztropine.

3. Droopy, this sounds fantastic!
I have much admiration for your radical changes in your negative habits.

I gave up smoking years ago, drink only the occassional beer or wine now, and watch what I eat. So I feel in good health generally.

Now I need to up my exercise level to compensate for aging metabolism! :D
I hate exercise for exercise's sake, but hope to start getting together with my girlfriends once or twice a week for working out together. Daily walks with my dog are very relaxing and mind-cleansing, but so far they don't melt the excess weight.... :-(

Way to go, guy, and hope you maintain this very positive attitude to these changes.

Really unbelievable, actually.....:wow:

:toast: :kick:

4. Thank you
I felt ok before I went on my health kick. I really didn't know what was in store for me when I embarked on my health nut program. Now I know that life can be so much better than just ok. And to think that I'm still not at a healthy weight. When I get down to around 200 I might feel so good that I'll shed my earthly body and join the One in nirvana. And that gluttonous living that I was doing was more than likely going to catch up with me sooner or later. I probably added ten years to my life just by quiting smoking. If I manage to stay the course with my diet and workout regimen I might add another ten years.
