Question
I take ambien for sleep now..
I take 12.5 mgs.
Sometimes I don't go to sleep after I take it
two nights a week,at least I was awake for hours.
No weird hallucinations or nothing,I was just laying awake.my body was kinda weak, and to pee I had to get up slow cause it was a bit dizzy ,but I don't sleep,Is this common? Is this possible?
Now what?

2. i take it occasionally
my pcp originally prescribed 10 mg, which works like a cartoon conk on the head. the sleep doc prescribed 5, and that works fine, with less of a groggy hangover.
i have only had it completely fail me once. sometimes i do wake up after a few hours.
now, i guess you call the doc that prescribed it.
sleep is so important. keep trying to find what works for you. how is your environment? i need dark, dark, cool, and quiet to sleep really well.

7. that sucks
you can tell him i said so. i went though some of that kind of sleep wars myself. more over the cost of running the air than anything. i know how everything can feed into the relationship struggles. it sucks.
do what you can to take care of yourself. fight for it if you have to. you gotta do what you gotta do. especially when you are talking about sleep.

3. It's happened to me a couple of times.
Ambien didn't knock me out, but made me groggy as hell. It's only happened to me when I was stressed out about something and my mind kept going even with the Ambien. Other times it's worked like a charm. Also, the only times that has happened is when I took Ambien CR (which is I think what you're taking, given the dose). You might try switching to regular old Ambien.

5. Ambien might not be the right thing for you
It doesn't appear to be working consistently for you. It rarely did anything for me, and even when it did I only got 2-3 hours of sleep off of it. You may need to see about switching to another sleep aid.

6. it does this to me sometimes, too.
couple of hours, and my eyes pop open. i can usually go back to sleep, tho. lunesta, et al are longer acting. but i am fine with it, cuz it is usually a matter of just getting my mind shut down. i think anything longer acting and i would have too much of a hangover.
