So, who's mood is getting a little better as the light comes back for Spring?
My depression seems to be in a wrestling match with all light. So, sometimes I feel okay because the brain accepts the difference and sometimes, I just feel conflicted because part of me feels better and part of me just doesn't care.

Oh, geeze.

2. We rather like it in the Autumn. It's our favourite season - with our eyes
we'll soon be able to see again during the day without a hat and sunglasses pulled over the eyes constantly.

Mind you, we lost our sunglasses yesterday. Luckily, we had a reseve pair! (Well, they're broken but they still do their job.)

4. Is it pretty there, Random? My mom and brother got to go
to Sydney when he was touring with an orchestra some years ago. They both loved it. :)

5. I rather like it. I might be in a city, but there are still trees and greens everywhere.
And there are many, many places I can go to wonder at nature. Quite a nice place, is Australia. More natural beaty than anyone else, though there is stiff competition in that department.

:)

No matter where you go, it is rare indeed to find anything ugly.

And I see I was posting while tired last night - thus the talking about myself as if I was multiple people.

13. Well, all of you are very lucky. :-)
Two people at the dog park this a.m. were talking about how lovely Australia is. I don't know if I can ever go there because the flight might end me. I managed to make it to Hawaii but that was a big challenge! Same with the flight to London.

10. That "be happy" pressure is not helpful at all, is it?
Maybe we could have mock Impeachments once a week -- you know, for practice. :)

9. from christmas cookies to daffodils- blech.
it was a pretty cold one here, too. i think we all feel worse in winter. trapped. tired. life is a hassle. hauling firewood (thank ja for the fireplace!), shoveling snow, all that extra laundry. i hate it. i love the spring. get to go a little south-er this week. really looking forward to it.

12. I was such a mess last winter, the relative cold didn't even
touch me. If the sky wanted to act out, well, it was welcome to!

For me, it seems to be about light. My mom gave me a fireplace for my birthday and it doesn't give off much heat (gel fuel) but the light was comforting in some way I don't understand but need.

There are birds courting all over this area -- their song is different and more frequent. I never realized how musical they are. :)

22. Not sure

My psychiatrist has told me there's a new theory that there is a reverse depressive disorder that is similarly triggered by spring/summer. I live in California, whereas my ancestors all lived in more moist, cloudy environs. That's one theory. It may also be a personal association with more pleasant memories of those seasons.

23. My theory is that it's all tied to Vitamin D.
Check out some of the research that's floating around and see what you think. It would explain why I have a tough time in late winter/early sping AND in August. I burn just thinking about sunlight, and bright light can trigger migraine for me, so I hug the shade all summer. I probably build up a slight Vitamin D reserve in late Spring/early summer and again in early fall.

24. I have clinical depression 24/7, so the seasons are just variations in the theme
I've tried vitamin therapy. It never seemed to help me, but it's certainly a worthwhile idea for someone else.

21. For some reason I feel best in Fall and Spring, when
things are really changing, there is so much action in nature.

While I feel stuck and stagnant in Summer and Winter.

Its a downer to be entering into the time of year that sucks for you. :-(

29. A caution -- Vitamain E causes some meds for blood pressure
not to work as well. So if you deal with that or diabetes, I'd check with a doc before taking that.
