1. weeeellllllll,
i was taking it for a while for fibromyalgia. it was slightly useful. no bad sides. it is used a lot for nerve based pain.
but, merck was sued for pushing it for off label uses, and this is the first i have heard of it being given for anxiety. iirc, the lawsuit was over claims that it treated bipolar, on the basis of one poorly designed and quickly repudiated study. seemed like it was the new aspirin for a while.
not sure what you want to do with that info. i leave it up to you.

maybe someone else has something more current.

2. I've taken lyrica
It does the same thing as neurontin, but lyrica is not covered by my MA so I had it via samples from my back doctor. The lyrica has the effectof making me a little dizzy and dopey. But it is managable. He tells me neurontin will make me tired more dopey than lyrica and it has alot of side effects.Tonight my back pain is hurting me alot.I had a few capsules of lyrica left over and it is helping the pain along with hydrocodone every 6 hours or so.I haven't resorted to the needles of medicine I got in the fridge yet,I don't want to use it unless I have to, but if I do,it will stop the pain, but also knock me out for awhile as it makes me dreadfully sleepy,I have two needles because the painkiller will make me sick so one is the anti nausea stuff & the other a strong painkiller..I see my doc next week and if I am still hurting like this,I may ask him to put me on neurontin anyway.I'll say more about it when I get put on it.
