****GO READ THE JKR INTERVIEW **** Thread
Read it here: http://www.mugglenet.com/jkrinterview.shtml

This clears up/gives a few clues to some of the questions we all have had. I will let you read and then post myself on what I think it answers.

Have fun!!

1. *******SPOILERS**********
Well, it seems like Jo is hinting that Snape really *is* a bad guy.

If so, I'm disappointed. It seems like she's put a lot of complexity into his actions and motivations and to me, there's a lack of payoff if he's really on Voldy's side.

JMHO

Also, there seems to be a little bit of a bad message here. It seems to indicate that if you dislike someone, that means they are not trustworthy and not worth trying to work with toward a common goal, or trying to work through the issues between you to find common ground. You can just write them off as being on the side of evil.

2. JKR is very good at keeping us guessing, and she's very good
at parsing every word she says in an interview. In JKR's view, Snape could be a bad guy, but still be on the side of the good guys. That is, he could be "bad" in terms of truly unpleasant, and definately not "nice," but still fight against LV and the DE's.

3. totally
and I like how she totally dances around half the questions they ask.

Q: is Snape evil?
A: What do you think?

4. Yep-she does QUITE a lot of dancing, which frequently annoys me
but on the other hand, I don't really want her to destroy the suspense! Sometimes, I wonder if she'll be able to get away with "only" seven books--seems she has quite a bit of "back story" that would continue the series. I don't know how she's going to wrap everything up in just one more book!

5. she said
that she has whole notebooks full of info on all the characters, and she might put out something like a giant encyclopedia with all the stuff in the notebooks.

Too much good stuff.

:D

And the dancing around questions, I love it! It's in some cases more informative than a straight answer would be, ya know?
