In HP, do wizards need wands
in order to do magic?

Are there examples of wizards doing spells without magic?

1. In Book 6
Aren't the students working on wandless charms? I vaguely recall some discussion of it: that students weren't able to not talk at all.

2. They were WORDLESS charms...
But yes, there are wandless charms...They were talking about how the prisoners in Azkaban could eventually break out even without a wand.
I believe Dumbledor did stuff without a wand a few times...

3. Potion-making is done without wands.
That seems like it's straight chemistry.

Also, when someone changes into animagus they do it without wands.

5. You mean pre-Hogwarts?
Yes, that's true, good point.

I also thought broom-riding is a non-wand activity. Although perhaps brooms are mad to fly because of wand action at the factory.
