I just finished The Fionavar Tapestry by Guy Gavriel Kay.
And I feel so depressed. The books were so fantastic, the characters so engaging, the writing beyond description. And now I'm sad.

2. Because they're over.
I can't remember the last time I got so engrossed in in story, and what a masterful storyteller Kay is to be sure. It was hard to read the last few pages... because they were the last few pages. *sigh* At least my copy of Tigana by Kay finally made it to my library today... I'll start it tonight, but I can't imagine it will be as good as the Fionavar trilogy.

3. Tigana is good, too.
I have the fionavar tapestry, tigana, and "a song for arbonne" on my shelves; I reread them last fall after about a decade, and felt the same when I was done. "Tigana" is different, but also a worthy read.

5. I didn't start reading Tigana......reading Inkheart instead.
I think it was your great thread that gave me all the ideas for new authors and books. I put Inkheart and Inkspell on hold and they came in the same day as Tigana. I'm only a few chapters in but I'm liking it so far.

7. I love Inkheart!
Of course, it is guaranteed to hold the attention of a bibliophile, with the great quotes at the beginning of each chapter, and the whole notion of reading dissolving the line between reality and imagination.

Inkdeath, the 3rd in the series, is out in October. I'm looking forward to it.

8. Loved Inkheart, moved onto Inkspell.
I so hate having to wait so long for another book to come out.... sigh.

4. I remember feeling that way when I first finished Eddings' Belgariad
this was before the Elenium sequel series came out. I just loved the characters so much that I felt a sense of loss when I finished the last book. Of course, I was only about 14 or so at the time, but still, it was weird.

6. Haven't read Belgariad.
In fact, I think I looked on my library's catalog and they didn't have the series. Might have to buy that one.
