While it is pretty new stateside, the "Malazan Book of the Fallen" is IMHO the best Fantasy Epic started in the last decade - it gives the Wheel of Time , and even the LoTR a run for their money. The first book ("Gardens of the Moon") alone is among the best fantasy stories I've ever read.
So: are there any fellow Erikson readers out there?.
