Any Railroad / Railfan Photographers here?
I just got a Fuji s5100 and am learning how to use it.

I have a friend who is big into rail pics and wants me to go along with him on his Photo Journeys.

Anyone out here like taking pics of Trains?

1. I'm into train stations, but they are few and far between.

2. Me! Me! Me! Me! Me!
One of my favorite subjects, next to factories and old abandoned amusement parks.

Some I took over the summer after first getting my digital Camera...

Massachusetts...

And New Hampshire...

3. That's the Conway visitor center is it not?
It is a nicely restored station with a visitor center and exhibits. I think we went hiking on the mountain behind it.

4. Yep. I think you're right.
Not far from the famous White Mountains Hotel...

And speaking of trains, it's also not far from the White Mountains Cog Railway and the Conway scenic Railroad.

Thanks for taking the pressure off me! What a relief! :pals:

BTW, I posted pictures in your amusement park thread. I can't remember where my pictures were taken (wild & crazy weekend trip with the girls, what can I say?), but I think it's up your way, on the coast. Cross posting here, but do you know where that beach shot is from?

5. Cool! I plan on taking a bunch as soon as I can
Here's a Locomotive I found on the tracks in Chetek, WI on New Years Weekend. It was cold as heck, and the Loco sat there idling for 3 days without moving. It is leased to a new Shortline Railroad, the Wisconsin Northern.

9. A couple from this morning
Not a subject I do too often but I was walking home after dropping my car off to get worked on and a train was passing by underneath the bridge. Missed the locomotives.

I live in a railroad town and there's already tons of artists and photographers that concentrate on trains that it's something I never did much of. The O. Winston Link Museum is within walking distance of my apartment and I still haven't gone to visit. Been meaning to ever since it opened. He had some pretty amazing shots. www.linkmuseum.org/

Haven't played with them in Photoshop yet just resized them.
