More shots from my trip down south - just for my Photo Groupies!
I don't have anything profound to say with these shots. Some are artsy, others documentary. I like to think some are both.

New Orleans:

Cute little art shop. I've lost the guy's business card, darn-it-all! Richard S--- Anyway, he had some cool stuff. I loved the colors and the lighting!

Artistic archway

One of the artists had this little ditty by her art display:

Disaster shots:

Breakfast, anyone?

Why, yes. That is a house in the road. Why do you ask?

This is all that's left of an Episcopal church. The congregation meets in a big tent in part of the parking lot.

This chair was just randomly set on a small remaining bit of board walk, somewhere around Long Beach and Pass Christian. The first time I saw it, a guy was sitting on it, just looking out to sea.

My friend who worked on one of the Red Cross feeding trucks rescued this dog and her puppies. Mama and the puppies were being relocated to Virginia to find them homes.

I just love the optimism and humor in these two shots:

Flying back into Denver. From palm trees to snow-brrr!

3. I had a hard time picking between artsy arch shots.
Here's the other one I wanted to post, but then thought I had too many photos in the thread already.

I intended to return to this place to eat, but couldn't find it my second trip back to the French Quarter. :(

6. The French Quarter was so beautiful,
I really wish I had seen New Orleans before the storm. I'll bet there were a lot of beautiful places around the rest of the city. :(

9. I think this looks like the entry to The Gumbo Shop
on St. Peter, adjacent to Jackson Square....

4. I adore your work.
The picture of the theatre had me in tears - every theatre I have ever worked in would have the same attitude.

7. I worked in theater a lot, too.
That's why I had to take that shot.

By week three, when I took this, I was really striving to get hopeful photos. The theater's pluckiness really spoke to my heart! :loveya:

8. Very good pictures again
Especially that chair, it's kind of symbolic for the whole situation, no?

Thanks, InTheFlow :-)

10. nice set!
Its always hard to look at disaster photos and know exactly how little is being done to help the people back on their feet. I think the chair photo is quite moving. You've captured quite a bit more than just beauty or devistation... you've captured both, flawlessly.

11. Wonderful photos, INF!
Welcome back to Denver. Maybe we will actually get to meet and have a photo weekend sometime! I'm going to Houston this weekend, but I just bought a bunch of new lenses and filters for my camera. I should be getting them next week!

Also, check out my snow pics in the "Due to the Slow Traffic Here..." thread. That was from yesterday morning. We have about a foot of snow up in Gold Hill right now, and it is supposed to snow off and on until Tuesday.

12. No, Dear, I'm still down south.
This is an old post from December that was just kicked again.

And I saw the snow photos. All I can say is... I'm glad to still be in a tropical zone, disaster not withstanding!
