2. thank you
Gelnhausen isn't too far from Frankfurt. It is a beautiful town.

Those pictures were taken at the Bodensee (Lake Constance).

5. it is a beautiful valley. I loved to misbehave in Sachsenhausen (SP?)
I will have to get some of the pitures I took when I was there from my Ex and scan them in. I am sure you would recongise some of the local places. Other then the month of July this was my favorite tme of the year there. The lights and slow pace of the holidays. I was just a great time to wonder the streets and enjoy the sights and smells.

but I know what you mean. The Äppelwein can do havoc to one :)

I have a post in the Lounge where I posted some pics I took at the Main Sunday last week. Check them out. Further down that thread I posted a couple pics of the skyline of Frankfurt.

8. I looked at those earlier and enjoyed them as well
The Kinsig river ran thru my backyard and I loved the ducks and swans when they were there. We used to grab a rack of beer and sit on the banks and solve all of the worlds problems in an hour. The local beer made us very wise. Kruitzberg? Made by monks up the highway. Their clositer was next to a ski hill.

16. I never really liked American beer anyway
my grandfather raised me on Becks dark beer growing up. Warm dark beer at that. I do miss the beer, brauts, coffee and brochen as well. Also the long bike rides and wondering the old cities. I wil go back this summer come hell or high water. I have friends who still live in Gelhausen so I can hang with them and rent a car to go travel the country.

but my problem with night pictures (and the Christmas market looks a lot better at night) is that I have no tripod.

18. Nettles can be a lifesaver....
Edited on Tue Dec-27-05 12:53 AM by chknltl
In regards to the last photo "chair in nettles", brings back a memory where I was riding my bicycle down a hill on a country road between Abendburg and Schwabach. I was moving quite fast when an idiot in a whit Jeep tried to sideswipe me. I went off the road and my front tire hit something forcing me to fly over the handle bars. I flew like superman for a few yards before sliding through quite a few more yards of nice soft cushiony nettles. Stung a bit but I believe the nettles and that soft dirt the nettles were growing in prevented worse damage from happening to me. My bike survived enough to get me back to Schwabach too.

I love the second photo in your series the best Misshoneychurch. The first one is a close second for me too. If you are taking requests: Some cool building shots would be nice, maybe try: churches, castles, gasthouses, downtown street scenes and bakeries, (especially bakery windows).
