1. A baseball, a pine cone, and some ornaments?
With a macro lens too.

3. Cool...
I got a new lens, too, a 50 mm 1.8, and a great pack to carry everything in when we go on our treks. Now if we'd just get some sunshine...

5. It's all Raging's fault...
Edited on Mon Dec-26-05 02:04 PM by Blue_In_AK
:) It's a great little lens though and didn't cost an arm and a leg like the other ones. At least HB didn't go for the OTHER lens that Raging recommended, the 100 mm macro. I think HB's spent quite enough on me this year. I'm ALMOST embarrassed by it.

9. Tamrac is very good
Lowepro is also good for backpacks. I've always liked backpack camera bags because they don't automatically look like camera bags, which means they're less appealing to thieves.

10. Good point...
The reason I was pleased with the backpack is because it's so much easier to carry things on your back when you're hiking around, especially when you're my age and need to grab onto branches and stuff to climb up hillsides. I really can't wait to get out and start shooting. Jim also got me some good old Sorel Caribou snowboots with the good tread, so now I'm truly set to about 40 below. Something I guess you don't need to worry too much about, Raging. :)

6. Guess I have too many expensive habits
My biking habit got fed - I got winter biking gear.

My daughter, on the other hand, got a graphics tablet. I suspect I'll borrow it from time to time to do photo editing - especially since it's currently connected to my computer :) (Guess it's in my best interestes not to find her a replacement for the computer she normally uses that finally succeeded in frying itself a couple of weeks ago... )

Nice toy you got there.
