Christmas Cactus
I can't take credit for growing these cactus, they belong to my landlord. But I love them. I love anything that blooms in winter in the northern hemisphere. :loveya:

1. Nice!
I can see any of them as post- or note-cards. You controlled the (potentially distracting) background very well, except for the second one, where a smaller aperture would have helped in my view.

3. I had to work hard to control the backgrounds.
My landlord has these on low tables in a "busy" room, i.e., his art gallery. I had to do a lot of contorting and lying on floor to get these shots.

I included the second photo here mostly because I don't think the flower looks like a Christmas cactus. I don't know what I think it looks like, but this shot was competely unlike any other shot I took that day.

2. I love the third one...
That magenta almost vibrates.

4. Thanks, Blue.
I didn't even have to PhotoShop that, that's the real honest-to-goodness color!

5. Number four is my fave
The color is strong yet delicate against the white background. Does the flower really face down like that?

6. That's my favorite, too.
For the very same reason. And yes, the flowers do hang down. They kind of cascade over the side of the pot, like so:

I had to lie on my back on the floor to get that shot.

BTW, I understand this particlar plant is over 30 years old. :wow:

7. Flowers?
Nooooooooooooooooooooooo
:scared:

I'm not ready for flowers.

I like the last one. Just to be different. Looks like a studio shot.

So.... what in the "Sam Hill" are you using for a lens? Inquiring minds want to know "dagnamit".

8. These are beautiful
and you did great at getting rid of the background so they stand out. I saw what you had to deal with below.
