2. I know it was the title that got you to look...
:spank: Thanks, I'm glad you like it. It was one of those kind of gray afternoons -- you know the kind -- and the original photo didn't have much color, so I used Paint Shop to sepia-tone it and played with the curves a little bit for the contrast. Hey - where was your "something old" entry, dear? Are you telling me that I sent you the camera for NOTHING?

3. LA
I already told you ... I live in LA - we don't have old things here! I can't even remember the last time I saw an old person. I'm going to Sequoia this weekend so I will probably get some good shots then, but doesn't help me for this month's challenge.

I think that pic is blowupable - would you send it to me in its large size?

4. Sure thing.
Haha. My guess is there ARE old people in LA, they just have really great plastic surgeons.

We will all be looking forward to sequoia pictures, so you must post, even though the contest is over, okay?

6. Did somebody landfill the La Brea Tar Pits? (I doubt it.)

(tsk, tsk) Wilshire Blvd. isn't exactly the other side of the moon.

Kids! :eyes:

7. The Tar Pits!
Totally forgot about that. Whatever - I live in Santa Moncia, I don't go east unless it is absolutely necessary! Have you seen the traffic mid-Wilshire? It isn't pretty!

8. (tsk, tsk) That's hardly a LA Road Warrior attitude.
Edited on Fri May-19-06 11:52 AM by TahitiNut
To be a true Lalalandian (unlike us <former> BayAreacans), you must learn to dine, sleep, make love, and bathe within your vehicular persona. That over 65% of the land area in LA County and environs is dedicated to internal combustion habitats must never be allowed to go uncelebrated.

When I lived in Glendale (at Verdugo Blvd. and Glendale Blvd.) as a kid in the early 50s, Wilshire was a marvel of vehicular expediency - the longest straight road in the nation, as I recall. I also remember the streetcars and the open spaces (countryside) between Santa Monica and downtown LA. Hell, San Bernardino was almost nothing but orange groves!

9. Okay.
I can tell you right now that I'm never going to enter a sunset contest with you.

:eyes: I don't think we even have sunsets here.

11. If there was ever a sunset contest
we would have to make sure you were running it to give the rest of us a chance. I have been looking but on other computers so haven't logged on to comment. They are all great. Make sure that when you do get a site you post the link for all of us here. Have you look at smugmug? Looks like a way to start with out having to put put out tons of cash. I have been looking it over thanks to the account F. Gordon has for the group.

12. I haven't looked closely at Smugmug....
....other than F. Gordon's photogroup showcase. When we get back from our trip, I'm planning to really start checking into this stuff. I don't know anything at all about website design or anything, so being a subset in somebody else's website is probably a good idea.
