Some Close-Up Nature Shots
These were not the easiest shots to get. Taken with an Olympus D540 digital camera (VERY inexpensive, but high-quality digital camera).

1. they are not easy...especially those skippers (middle)
They say the secret to butterfly photography (skippers are butterflies even though they don't look like it) is to chill the insect in the fridge for a little while and place it on the flower. I'm not willing to do that and anyway you miss the action shots. So I just cuss a lot because they can be very camera shy. Here are two getting romantic:

I believe these might be seven-spotted skipper.

4. Chilling them in the fridge would take away the thrill of if, IMO
I much prefer to take pictures of nature in a... um, natural way.

I see that you do too... in more ways than one. :D

5. wow! digital!!! I will have to check that camera out since my
Kodak inexplicably died on me. Those are absolutely fabulous photos!!!!

They look like the type of shot I used to get w/my old two ton Minolta and a telephoto lens.

6. I have read good stuff about the
Cannon S-70 and the Nikon coolpix 8700. the Nikon digital seem to have a steeper learning curve.

Do do your homework before buying a digital. Image quality is what matters.

7. God. They're gorgeous. SO vivid and the bugs are cute too. :)
I love sun flowers. Yellow is my favorite color.
