Reminder about the SEASONAL CONTEST...

Now that this month's finals are in progress, and before the "pick a theme for next month's contest" threads appear, let me remind you that the quarterly Scenes of Autumn contest will be opening for submissions at the crack of midnight on Halloween (i.e. the first moments of November 1st), so, if you haven't yet given any thought to your submission, or are thinking about posting a "help me pick my entry" poll, now's the time to start!

Was this contest about fall generally or just limited to fall colors? Would some of my spooky graveyard pictures be appropriate since they're Halloweenish? I'm just loving the graveyards.

4. It's anything evocative of the season...

...so those would qualify. I would note, however, that, since the polling will be taking place in November, after Halloween is past, people might think of pictures with a Halloween theme as "old news." Or they may not -- who can say? The same would apply, I would think, to Christmas-themed photos for the Winter contest, which will be held in February.

I think we're all feeling our way thorough these the first time. But those photos would certainly be welcome.

9. Actually, there's going to be a short delay...

...as the multimedia presentation (no kidding!) part of my daughter's biography project (or, as paisley has been referring to it, "the project that ate a family") was moved, without warning, from the 2nd to the 1st. Because of this, and the craziness it entailed, the submission thread will be going up late on the 2nd or early on the 3rd. There should be no problem with the time frame, as the preliminary rounds won't start until the 9th.
