Anyone else do their own "Holiday Cards"
Edited on Mon Dec-04-06 04:22 AM by F.Gordon
This started as something completely different. I was playing around with the P&S looking to do a few Americana type trippytickies. Then I started messin' with ideas for greeting cards. On most I used the same PP. Noise reduction (these were all handheld at ISO1000), unsharpen mask 2 radius 100+/-, selective focus, color change, funky b&W treatment, then picture frame.

Have about 40+ I came up with. Already used a few selected ones to send out. Will probably narrow down this "holiday" batch to 20 or so. It's so damn difficult to come up with anything original for this time of year cause' it seems like everything has been done in one fashion or another. Seriously doubt Hallmark will be banging down my door.

Anyhoo... a small sample. Still need to run a few through the hot wax and spot free rinse cycle.

1. Being more attuned to color,
I like Saint Grumpy #4 best. The totally vacuous quality of Tony the Snowman has a certain contemporary relevance, but lacks the venality of the original.

3. These are damn clever little works of art
tho' I don't care for the color one. The last two are my favorites. The selective focus works very well on those two.

6. Ohhh I like these.
My fav Santa's are 3,4,5&7. I like the snowman too but wonder if it would be even better with a blue tint.

One year I got lucky and caught Karma checking out the presents. I used it as a card the next year.

Could be a Tis the Season photo with the cat and all.

Another year I got creative and tried doing a card (two actually) in Illustrator.

One for other ferret people and those that think we ferret people are nuts.

And one the next year.

One day I will have to try to remember how I got Illustrator to work.

7. Maybe you could dress up
a Bush gnome in an elf outfit. That would be cool.

I like the one in color but the last one made me laugh. :-)
