12. Wow! Who could resist a FREE chair?!
I'm sure I don't want to know what that brownish-red stuff on the side is. Well, yeah, dicksteele. That's funky all right.

Pity. It was probably funky in a cool way when it was new.

Outside of Theodore's Booze, Blues and BBQ... after watching some funky band to the wee hours!

Did you draw that Go-Go Girls? They are very funky! :hi:

25. Yep that's one of my funky drawings...
It's signed in the corner, "Capt. New Jersey, 1992" to add further to it's funkiness...

Best I could come up with on short notice. Still don't have access to my "portfolio".:( I could have taken a self-protrait.....those would all be "funky". ;)

14. Is that a photograph?
Whatever, it is truly funky!

I like how the smiling Republican looks like some form of cartoon insect, and the frowning one looks like he's in purgatory.

4. From an old slide
This is right after a bicycle race in down town Asmara Eritrea (was part of Ethiopia at the time.) I'm going to play with this image some more to see if I can improve the color. It was in real bad shape.

Every time the sign rots away, they put up a new one.

15. Funkiest part of the first photo, imo:
The butterfly on that one guy's shirt! :)

I think the black and white gives the second its funkiness. And such signs always make me wonder: What is their concept of "soon"? How long are we supposed to wait?

16. These are all awesomely funky, TIAK!
But that middle one takes the funkilicious award! All that art would look right at home in my house! :)

That bottom one... kinda sweetly sad. "All my dreams fulfilled again!" I'm not even an Elvis fan, but this makes me miss him. You could say it puts me in a bit of a funk.

6. Little Havana, Miami
When I was a kid back in the 1970s, signs in this Cuban neighborhood would say, "Se Habla Espanol" to reveal Miami's diversity.
Today, the signs in that neighborhood say ...

I would definately think of as funky. What it it? My first thought was a plaster wall, but that more I look at it, I think it's metal. Whatever! It's very cool, DS1. :hi:

19. One of my professors at
seminary is a Greek Orthodox priest (minister?). Now he's s funky dude! As to the funkiness of this shot, it's definately the way the gold glows against that sky. Although that tourquoise blue around the windows is a close funky second!

21. The contrast of the bright paint and the rust
is jarringly funky. It's like the machinery is trying to be cheerful in spite of the decay.

29. Funky Buddha!
Completely unrelated to yor photo, there's actually a bar here in Denver called The Funky Buddha Lounge. Expensive place, but, you know, funky.

However, your photo reminds me of those monks who can melt snow poured on them while they meditate. Which is a powerfully funky meditation skill!

Thanks for posting! :hi:

30. I just thought he looked really serene
(in a funky sorta way ;-) ) that morning when I was tromping around in the freshly fallen snow in my backyard. He looked so peaceful. I think if I had the talent to edit out the fence in the background and make it look like a giant snowy field, it would really be something.

BTW, I always sorta liked this photo but never knew what to do with it. Thanks for giving me a place to post it ;-) . I'll check out the Funky Buddha Lounge when I get a moment. Sounds, well,. . . funky!

But here are a couple I like from Rock Island State Park in Wisconsin
BTW, the link to your first photo seems to be broken.
