A snap I took today...
I dunno. I liked the red wall and yellow dumpster.

1. I like it
But I would like it better if you could isolate the flag against the red backdrop. The fence and the dog clutter the picture, IMHO.

4. The first gives a sense of place.
Both styles have their merits, but I would spend a lot more time with the first one if I saw them both on a gallery. "What did the dog see?" Why the Texas(?) flag?" etc.

6. In that neighborhood of Brooklyn, I doubt there is
anyone from Texas, except for those who may have entered that way.

That would be the flag of Puerto Rico.

5. It was just a thought. What do you think?
It will be cool if you can get the flag flapping in the wind.

8. A close-up of the flag tangled in barbed wire would be evocative.
Edited on Wed May-25-05 09:36 AM by TahitiNut
I like the composition and color of the original photo. The impact of the barbed-wire is diluted by all the other elements of the photo, so that's not the essence of the photo. Another photo, showing the flag and barbed wire only, in sharp focus, would be a completely different photo, relying not as much on color and composition as the symbolism of the interaction.

9. I like the photo the way it is, all the elements make it interesting
some of the intriguing aspect are the relationships of the different elements to each other.

10. Thanks. I have been looking at it
and have decided the scene is what drew my eye.
The whole thing... red, yellow, flag, fence, dog... empty lot
