Let me introduce you to Alaska's candidates for U.S. House of Representatives -- minus Rep. Don Young who had to cancel at the last minute for some important reason or other. (Probably had to meet up with his lawyers, or, more likely, he doesn't want to suffer so much by comparison to the others.) This was at a forum tonight hosted by a Hispanic group regarding immigration, health issues, education, etc.
Anyway, from left to right are Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell, state congresswoman Gabrielle LeDoux -- both Republicans -- and Ethan Berkowitz and Diane Benson, the Democratic contenders. I have to say I was favorably impressed with everyone (although Diane's still my fave, of course). Surprisingly, they were all sounding rather like Democrats. :) Any any one of them will be infinitely better than Don Young. I'm feeling hopeful.
This photo is the mirror reflection. I couldn't shoot them dead on (oh, that sounds bad) because they had a glass block wall behind them with the sun shining through.
and on the way home I stopped and took this different view of Anchorage.
