Ducks

When the ducks start gathering like this, summer's almost over. The babies are grown and ready to fly to warmer climes.

At least the sun was "sorta" out. :) Fall is approaching, though, no doubt. We are just beginning to see some yellow leaves, and surprisingly on our walk last night we saw one tree in full autumn color already. I don't know what was going on there, but it was kind of startling.

I read one rather depressing news article a week or so ago reporting that climatologists say we're heading into the cold phase of a North Pacific Ocean cycle called the Pacific Decadal Oscillation. These shifts apparently last for decades, so we may be in for many more cold summers. Guess I'll have to get used to it.

Maybe it'll bring back the glaciers, which wouldn't be a bad thing.

too bad we can't decide where that stuff gets placed, though (like not on top of where you guys live... :) ).
