More beauty in work:
I somehow remembered to take a picture as I was cutting the last one. :)

2. Nothing too fancy
I just put a stainless steel tile backsplash around a bathtub, and had to cut a few to fit. The tiles are regular ceramic, wrapped with a stainless jacket.

I monkeyed around for some time figuring out the best way to cut something made of both steel and ceramic. The solution turned out to be a dremel, and lots of time. :)

4. Questions Galore
How did you take this picture, owning only two hands?
I bailed out a hot tub today
-yes the damn thing is mine, and paid for, and not in arrears-
and as I was throwing water into a cold winter's sun's reflection I needed more arms than two to have the water hit, the sun reflect, and the shutter to close.

The dremel thing, is it kosher?

I really like the photo.
I use power tools often. But I don't know enough to make them be improvisational tools.
Good on you.

5. Thanks!
I just set the camera on the workbench, composed a little, turned on the 10 second timer, and let 'er rip. I just remembered every time I had cut a tile, all the pretty sparks made me think, hey, I should take a picture of this. Finally, on the last one, I did. This was the second of two shot attempts, the first being scrapped because I forgot to turn off the auto-flash. :D

The dremel is completely kosher; the cutting wheels are for just such a thing, cutting metal, and the tile bit I used later was just for cutting ceramic tile. It took a little while, but there you go. It's probably the most useful tool I've ever owned; on this bathtub remodel, I've used different dremel bits for everything from cutting off nail heads I couldn't quite get to with the sawzall, to routing out the shape I wanted on the last piece of wood flooring in the uneven corner. :)

6. Very very cool. Or be that hot? Thanks for taking the time to tell me.
I was serious about my water and the sun, and self exposure did not occur to me.
