1. How did you accomplish that there are no people? Great feel of desolation and
numbers four and five are my favorites by far especially four and five.
:)
I would have a time picking between them as photographs.

2. Pretty easy
Only two trains a day, at ungodly hours......there were approximately three people there buying tickets, and the occasional maintenance person.

Thanks.

3. In Europe the trains are everywhere, on time, and you need no car from city to city.
If you are in your compartment, often times just like in an airplane you see your route on a screen, with info about the cities etc. and the conductor might come on and say:
We are running 2 min. behind schedule, please excuse this, and we foresee being able to make up the time for your connecting trains.

I cannot understand.....
We need that here.

Now they have, in Southern Germany, turned streetcars from within the cities into trains that run faster on the same track once they leave the city.
So people can get on the train in their town, go to the city to work, the train slows down and becomes a streetcar that stops and connects to the cities' transportation system.

You don't bring a car into town that way, and are completely "handled" as far as transportation goes. And no parking problems or fees.

( I go off that way at times on this subject, sorry, I know this is about your photos, but you already know my favorites)

4. It's pretty silly to have this nice renovated train station
And hardly any trains. They use most of the building as a large area for wedding receptions, etc. On the train we have a choice of going to Chicago or New Orleans, but the hours are not convenient. Once one of my daughters took the train to New Orleans. I remember going on passenger trains when I was a toddler, and I even slept on the train.

I am not sure that #4 and #5 are as in keeping with the theme of doors and gates as the first three, so that gives me a little pause. But I think I'm probably going with the neighbor's incarcerated angels, anyway, unless something else strikes me before then. For one thing, I don't think taking pictures of the train station is all that creative. The space is great, but I'm not adding anything to it, and I didn't have to hunt for it. I feel the same way about the Graceland gates, and even the gates at the Metal Museum. Most of the interesting doors around here are on old churches, and that's not particularly creative, either. But I'm going to keep my eyes open.

5. I understand - I think I evaluated the 4 and 5 photos on the overall
appeal, though I did look to see doors there.
I am not nearly carried away with this as I was with "red" though, it alerted me to look at or for doors and gates with new eyes. I actually went on a little walking tour looking for some, but deleted them all.
My only chance in these contests, I think, is in thinking a little outside the box.

So bad about the train station, and all that means.
