For Mira....more painted buntings
I am tracking these shy birds down in my area. They certainly like to stay hidden but in the early morning or late afternoon one has a good chance of finding them out feeding and if one is lucky, one can get a clear shot of it. I posted these in the Lounge I think, but perhaps some of you did not see them.

Now to work on getting closer. I will probably have to put on camo and sit in a blind. :)

1. Senor Maestro - I'm really thrilled with this !!!!!!!
today, for a number of serious reasons, I have a day of contemplation and completion and new enormous challenges.
You posting this "for me" simply is the icing on the cake.
I just walked 15 steps and stood in front of my screen printed painted bunting, and with your last photo it all came together for me for the first time.
These birds really exist, just like that.

Thank you !

3. I am glad you are enjoying them.
Here are few from last season, but they aren't my favorites because I really did not catch him in the natural environment. He was in the street eating seeds from recently cut grass, but he was closer and very cooperative.

Here are two of the female painted bunting. Not quite as colorful, but in Nature the females need to be less obvious. I also like these because of the natural surroundings.
