It's overwhelming. It was a wonderful experience to participate in the contest, I loved the theme and learned a lot. Now I'm hard pressed to believe my photo won out in step with such exquisite others.
I had a number of favorites among them.

Did you notice the little bird in the left top of the image? When I contemplated which picture to enter, that's the little birdie that told me what to do.

Now I need pointers on what to do to hold the June contest, and though you volunteered I realize you just did it. So maybe someone, please, will PM me and offer to walk me through.
I learn pretty quick :)

Any and all of us are willing to help you run your contest. I would say you first challenge is deciding, do you want to pick a theme or poll the group? Is there a theme you wish would come up and hasn't or get picked and hasn't? Now is the time. The getting to choose the theme used to be the real prize for winning.

Your first job is picking the June theme and giving folks a general timeline for when submissions and prelims, etc. will run. Feel free to PM me any time with any questions!

I've been watching your photos and congrats on your placing so very deservedly in the Spring contest.

After what seemed like forever of rainy weather the sun finally came out. I have been in the garden trying to play catch up. So I have been looking during breaks then running back out side. Who knows how long the nice weather will last.

deciding on then running the contest. The misplaced battlefield was kind of funny and well it took a lot longer for anyone to mention it than I thought it would.

The first time I visited there I ask a ranger if the Battle of Sharpsburg was also fought near there. Course at that time I lived in the south and was taught in the south and did not realize one battle had two names.:blush:

Don't we have any Civil War buffs/Marylanders here at DU?:shrug:

I adore your photo. There is something about the body and the placement and the color of it and the "foreign" look, the suggestion of being impoverished and in great enough shape to take on the steps.
I just love it.
You and I talked as the voting went on about that neither of us knows how to run a contest.
You are destined to win one soon, you almost did with the doors recently. I will make notes throughout, and share, when the time comes. I can do this because I've already had offers and hints for help, and in a jiffy this will be over and I won't be a "virgin" any more.
We are the Photo Forum, we help each other. We think we are special :) because we are.

I have not been around long enough to know if Blue has won before. Bet she did, but I don't know.
But her photo to me also was a real winner in the clarity and the cleanliness and the undisturbed image of one that was so temporary and so very fragile.

And I revered the Bridges.
Clear architectural lines, and giving me pause on how the shot was composed and achieved are part of where I live.

You totally deserved to win.

It was so difficult to make a choice among these stunning photos.
