Fun in Phoenix - maybe you remember the Chihuly glass blower exhibit

I doubt I ever saw more tripod toting, long lens sporting photographers in one place at the same time.
There was a contest for the best photo going on, and below is the link to the pictures submitted. There are three of mine in there somewhere, I just had them "lying" around, so I sent them in.

The photo posted is of a stranger in the Botanical garden, where Chihuly's artwork was interspersed with the plants, making the glass an integral part of the landscape.
The contest submissions and the exhibit ended today.

1. I'm not really a fan of Chihuly's
but I must say this is a fabulous placement/display of his work. This, I think, is where it was meant to be.

And I can't believe Arizona Highways is still being published. I had a collection of those things for years for the great photography.

3. Welcome back Trocadero. I thought about you recently, and very fondly
remembered your entry in the contest of "doors and gateways".

5. What's especially nice here is the backlighting
That sun looks viciously strong, but the exposure turned out well, and the light coming through those sausages of glass is really nice.

10. A little later in the day
I think I went to the exhibit 3 or more times - the last time in the evening:

11. How nice - I think I left before it got this dark so we did not meet :) Beautiful
shots of a phenomenal happening. I know you liked it if you went back three times.
Was it 106 degrees at your visits, too? It warms the cockles of my heart to find these here.
Thanks.

12. All hail the great Cactus!
Those are great shots. I love the somewhat mysterious quality of the first image.

The second shot brings to mind the stereotypical scene of pagans dancing around a giant bonfire, although in this case, it seems more like fire dancing around the cactus.
