Seeking book advice
I'm back with another request for advice. This time, it concerns books. I'm looking for a good book on the technical aspects of photography. I've done a bit of SLR (film) photography before but below the level of serious hobby. So, I have a basic understanding of iso, aperture, etc (but a refersher would be nice). Things I've forgotten include topics like f-stops. I'd really like to get a book that covers a lot of the technical details, with good photos to illustrate the difference between the various settings. If it's a choice between a bit simplistic or a bit technical, I'd rather have the more technical one.

What books would you all recommend?

1. One I found helpful as a newby and
still helping is Understanding Exposure: How to Shoot Great Photographs with a Film or Digital Camera by Bryan Peterson. You can always check it out from a library before buying to see if it works for you. After that you might want to try Understanding Shutter Speed: Creative Action and Low-Light Photography Beyond 1/125 Second also by by Bryan Peterson.

2. Ooops (deleted) (and after another edit, revised).

I was adding a "me,too" to CC but realized I was thinking of another author. I'll have to dig a bit to find that name.

Edit again: The name is Freeman Patterson. Here's a link to the first book in his instructional series. The older (pre-digital) books are out of print but the current series also seems to have the same ability to integrate the art with the science: http://www.freemanpatterson.com/book4.htm
