1. Nice.
Do you use the gizmos that trigger the pic on the lightning flash, or do you just press the shutter release hoping to get lucky?

3. Just a manual (electric) cable release
and a fairly heavy tripod.
Manual exposure with a sigma 10-20mm F4 ex zoom.

2. I'm so disappointed
I clicked on this expecting something boring, and all I got was this cool dynamic picture. You're going to have to try much harder if you want to bore me ;)

From last week.
I guess the weather in tornado alley rarely bores.

7. Cool!
How often do you get storms like that? One place I lived, we got lightning storms almost every night but we rarely get them here. I miss the light show, but not the fires.

Hope you have a lightning rod taller than you and your tripod.

8. From April to June
I'd say we average twice a week with lightning.

5. Great great shots. I'm so impressed with your ability to catch them. But,
just how do you keep making that lightning happen?

;-)

6. Terry Pratchett's surefire (as it were) technique.
You stand out in a thunderstorm with one foot in a copper cauldron full of salt water and yell "The storm god is a wuss."

And if you are a photographer, one hand is attached to a metal tripod with an expensive camera by a cable release.
