Here's a bit of history - ran across it
while looking for photos of my yard and stuff in it.
Here is my truck.

I change things out all the time.

In the rear view mirror I watched a Mexican man translate it to his passenger wife, and watched them explode in laughter.
I got more smiles than snarls with this one.

1. Cool, from making your own signs........
I can imagine people would smile at this. I did. I hope people really remember that era, and will be saved from brother Jeb (ugh) anytime in the future!

Anyway, I like.

2. Yeah. Thanks. You cannot imagine all the stuff I've had on
my truck.
It all started with Quayle:
"A Vice Presidency is a Terrible Thing to Waste" across the entire back.

3. Love it!
That's a great one! "Never mind" is right.

If that's your truck though, you might want to blur/crop out the license plate.

4. It got replaced with one of the three
ITMFA plates in the country.
(impeach the MF already)

Then the dept of motor vehicles caught on, and canceled it's validity in the three states that had one. They did not believe the story about "MF = Miserable Failure" I tried to tell them to soften the impact.
They sent me a brand new plate, a self addressed stamped envelope to put ITMFA in and send it back to them. Also they sent back the 30 extra bucks I paid to get it.

I cashed the check, and still have the plate in my glove compartment.
I think it is time for a shadow box frame job, then I post a photo, then I give it to my grandson who marched with me twice in Washington, and then went with me to Obama's inauguration.

Ain't that special?

(Why block it out? I was all over the public streets with it til the changes came. I have had angry people take photos of my plate, when my back was full of anti Bush stuff especially. I don't care. It's my freedom of speech, and though at times I have taken a hit because of it, it's worth it to me.)

5. You're my hero, Mira
I've never heard of ITMFA plates before. That's awesome! I don't know which part of this story I love more, the fact that you got that license plate, your explanation of "MF" to to the govt, or that you kept the plate (and the cash). You should definitely frame it, along with a copy of this story. This is history in the making.

My concern about showing the plate is that if it were current then it allows anyone in the world to find you. I've had problems before, and so have several of my friends, with some pretty weird people. People who'll do more than steal your plates. It's made me lean towards paranoid. I just mentioned it as a warning, which you probably don't need, to be careful what you put out there.

7. Hey, you make me blush. There is one in Oregon, and one in VA, and one in NC,
That's it. And you know what, not til now did I fully realize this is one heckuva thing to have.
After all, they are official US plates. All three of them.
