Recent "street" photo
I took this about 3 blocks from my condo building, on 6th St in Austin. I was walking by with my big Nikon camera and the one holding the beer yelled out, "Hey man, take our picture! You want a picture of dirty, grimy, stinky street people, don't you?" And I was thinking to myself, "Yeah, I would!" But I just said okay and knelt down beside them to get the photo. I think it turned out pretty well.

1. I love it!
The one on the left glazed over is a classic look. Whether it is real or hammed, it is perfect! Great shot.

3. Perfect beyond words
This photo, at one time, could have made a lot of money in my town, which is
Winston-Salem, NC or otherwise called Camel City.
Fine, really fine.

6. That is a
magazine worthy shot. I wouldn't be the least surprised to open a Time or Newsweek with an article on street kids and see that photo.

Excellent job! :hi:

It reminds me of people within my circle of friends 40 years ago.

8. I was thinking the same thing.
The guy fore-front right even looks like a guy that both my best friend and I "dated" at different times on and off (more of an FIB sitch for all of us I think.) Now when we think back, we are so thankful neither of us ended up with him.

10. It's a great photo
but they don't look like dirty, grimy street people to me. I think he was lying to you :)

12. I agree
They didn't have the ground-in filth look of real street people (we have plenty of those around, too). These looked like stoners hanging around downtown for the weekend.

11. The more I look at this
some of it, particularly the kid with all the tattoos who's not looking at the camera and the window area, looks like a very elaborate pencil drawing.

You really should be proud of this photo. I bet it would have won the Strangers contest. :hi:

Does Time/Life still publish? Every bit as good as any I have seen.
