1. What? No snakes!?
Really cool shots. Love that beetle and the froggie peaking out of the pond scum.

2. You did not enter the Green contest???? or did I miss seeing yours there?
These are great !
I esp. like the new shoot coming up in the first picture, it looks like an alien or a garden diva.

We "collect" frogs here, live ones, stone ones, etc. Your shots are wnderful.

Wish you had entered some...maybe next time?

3. I don't do the contest. In the unlikely event that I might win I don't have
time to moderate the next event plus I have a self imposed rule that if I enter something it must be shot during the contest period. These are all from my archives and date back many years.

Thanks for compliment tho . . .

5. I think these are beyond marvellous, with the frog peeking
out of the muck my runaway favorite.
Why I wonder would you impose a rule on yourself that does not exist for others?
But I surely understand about running the contest and not having the time......

6. "The rule" is something I do for myself. I've said before that
I'm a fairly good technician but image making isn't something that comes easily. I can light a single piece of jewelry or a whole ball room, I have the technical skills. Still most of my stuff looks forced and contrived--except for wildlife and ya' can't force nature to do anything!

So, by saying that I won't enter anything from the archives I force myself to go out and LOOK at things, to find something interesting and to actually make new images. 'Course, that means that I may not have time or may not find anything that fits the theme. Besides my archives go back more than 40 years with thousands of images that have been edited down to a precious few hundred. Over that period of time and that many exposures there's got to be a good one every now and then. It just seems wrong to sift through all that and offer it as if it were fresh.

All that said, I still sell one every now and then and enjoy sharing some of the unique things I've seen and been fortunate enough to record.

7. That final shot could have won the contest.
I'm pretty certain. Sure as hell would have got a vote from me at least.

9. What awesome fun!
Love the pics! But then all it takes to win my attention is an adorable picture of a frog.

:hi:
