A face only a mother could love?
:silly:

Going through some old files I came across this beauty from the market in Nîmes.

1. Can't help but wonder about how many creatures
that this is the last thing that they saw before being eaten.

I guess that there's some justice, this creature is now headed for a dinner table.

3. Mugu - that is some interesting thinking. I can't bear to look at it. I'm sure

it is a fine photo, but I cannot linger to really see......

I opened this to edit and add:
I have seen heads of sheep for sale in an open air market in Ecuador.
I lingered enough to click the camera, but the sellers did not like that, and neither did I.

Now, Trusty Elf, it's time to make up for this with something beautiful with a small flying saucer over it.

6. There is no way this could have ended better. I now have a new desk top
photo which is not only complete with flying saucer, but a saucer reflected in the water. And you stand redeemed for having inflicted the monk fish on us.
It is all so very good.

4. It's a Monkfish,
one of those weird creatures that lurks half buried in the sand dangling an appendage to lure unsuspecting victims.

Here's the Burning Man Festival version. :D

An artist friend of mine has used Monkfish bones in one of his creations.

8. That's what I strongly suspected.
Further proof that some delicacies are the result of starvation. How anyone could look at that and still have an appetite is beyond me.

7. Oh, looky! It's a 'Mamma Mia' Monkfish!
(You'd have to see the movie.)

9. Hi TahitiNut!
Nice to see you. :hi:

I haven't seen the movie, or the musical for that matter. Is there a monk fish in it?

My photo of this fish is so ugly, it's beyond grotesque and almost humorous! Well, I thought so anyway.

He didn't seem to go over so well....

10. Yes, the movie/musical takes place in Greece (fishing village) and a monkfish appears.
:hi:
