Poll question: November Photo Contest poll.
Edited on Wed Sep-16-09 12:37 PM by Richard D
Like a dream - The chance for the surreal in you to come out. The lighting can be natural or artificial. Editing programs only to correct exposure and color and to crop. The object is to create a scene that is more real than real or appears dreamlike. Or both.

Wabi Sabi (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wabi-sabi) - Wabi Sabi is the practice of finding beauty and function in the worn. An old sink, lined by rust. Worn to the point where it becomes beautiful.

Just what is that? - A photo that has the viewer scratching their head and thinking "what the heck is that"? Of course composition and beauty are still vital.

In motion - Capturing motion and movement. Slower shutter speeds can sometimes be effective. Sometimes a very quick shutter speed can also capture motion.

Lit by Flashlight - Photography means literally painting with light. So choose a dark location, indoors or out, put your camera on a tripod. Compose the picture. Open the lens and paint the scene with a flashlight.

1. This completely freaks me out.
Once I get over the fear of even TRYING to compete here, I am going to get very very excited.
I can feel it in my bones....

Will vote later.
 :yourock:

5. These are all interesting!
I know we did 'Motion" a couple of years ago, but it's been long enough that it could certainly be done again.

:-)

9. Wabi-Sabi is the name of my business!
I named my landscape gardening business Wabi-Sabi. It is fun to see it. No one ever knows what is means, or pronounces right, so I rarely use the name anymore. I just run it under my name, most of the time.

11. I'm voting for it in just one minute. I may well be your
destiny to place really high in this one, if not win it.
This one's for you, Tekisui.

16. Ha!
Who would have guessed? Seriously, I would have voted you "most likely to have a business named wabi-sabi" out of everybody here. That is, had I ever heard of the concept...........

14. It will be a terrific challenge.
We had a contest a while back - Zen. It was a tough one. This one will prove to be equally challenging.
