1. Long Foot
Say, don't remember if I mentioned it before... but if you ever decide to visit Barrow, you are required to bring that guy with you!

8. Not so much modeling, he is a little actor. Pretty enough for the modeling
but the talent is for the boards of the stage. I never see enough of him, because I will always remember back to our waiting for him to be born.
Gorgeous child growing under our watchful and loving eyes.

Thanks. It makes me happy when new Aiman photos appear.

10. Oh, is he beautful!
I spent some time the other day reading his mom's blog. Right back to the delivery.

That's one gorgeous, special boy. He's really something, Blue - you did good with that girl of yours, it's obvious........................

Worked for Feds about 20 years, then went to firms and had some GREAT big-billing days!

Do you know what kind of case she's working on?

PS, (not really ps, Blue!) LOVE your photos!

16. The partners ....
seem happy with my great billing days! It's not one case but two big ones and one small one. In the last two weeks I have (1) had a big 6th Cir. appellate brief due; (2) had to prepare a partner for a depo (never an easy task!); and (3) been in charge of sorting out another firm's enormous mess (they produced all of our client's privileged documents) after they were fired and we were brought on. Just busy busy busy!!

It's my dream to go to the government! Where were you if you don't mind me asking?

17. HI, Mom!
REALLY busy, I see! That sorting and classifying would have killed me (unless good staff available!) Brief about what?

Interstate Commerce Commission, which was shut down and caused large 'reduction in force,' which included me!

Feds should have lots of rooms available with new admin. Given your experience, you could be VERY valuable!

GOOD LUCK!

18. Thanks!
It's actually a pretty interesting brief. First amendment and commerce clause challenges to a state regulation on the kinds of claims (i.e. No Artificial Hormones) that dairy processors can put on their labels.

There are LOTS of jobs, but not very many in California. I've been trying to extol the virtues of D.C. to my husband, but I don't think he is buying it!

20. Well, I lived in DC for 20+ years,
and due to family 'issues' moved to suburbs. Am NOW even farther out, working on MY place, in Hagerstown, MD!

DC IS an interesting place to live and work, and we've liked it a lot. Daughters went to private/parochial schools, but VA and MD suburbs offer good spots for public education.

But it sure ain't California! (A good thing: Ground only moves beneath our feet in a poetic sort of way!)

I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Fed work becoming available out there, as time moves on and this admin's initiatives take shape etc. TONS of commerce clause stuff, vis a vis state regs etc., so with such experience, I do think you'd be valued. I like the idea of DOJ for you!

Keep in touch if/when you're ready to leave the firm. AND you may want to keep an eye on listings. Where? I've forgotten, but can check for you.

Enjoy the weekend! (Hope you get one!)

Ellen

19. If you really dream of going into government
SSA is looking for lawyers. http://www.ssa.gov/careers/legalcareers.htm They have a really big backlog from bushco not letting them hire and people that need help are suffering from it.

My mom (non lawyer) loved her job there and worked her way up into the executive levels.
