light set-up for those who asked

light set-up for those who asked
and for those who didn't too, I guess

for the harry potter arm shot.... several of you have asked how I kept the light confined to the forearm... here is how I did it, there are other ways, but...


I had two flashes with remotes, you could easily use slaves too... one bounced off the wall behind her... making sure her shoulders were turned wide enough to block the majority of the light...

the second flash was set to it's lowest power (1/128th) and had a snoot on it.

a snoot is anything that confines the photons of the light to a small, tight area, and does not allow them to roam around like they want to

a rolled up piece of cardboard, a pvc pipe, or in this case a neoprene wine bottle holder with the bottom cut out... anything you can put over the flash head and aim where you want it

so I just held it up and aimed it down

as you can see there is still a very little splash of light on her face from it.
