Beautiful Kodiak
We had a wonderful time in Kodiak, and had great weather except for Friday -- something worth celebrating on that rainy island. I've posted some photos at my SmugMug site here: http://northernvisions.smugmug.com/Vacation/Kodiak-April-2010/11895088_5ocwe#841859864_JBFuF

Here are a few shots

We'll definitely be going back over there during the summer, and we're planning on taking a flight over to Katmai for bear viewing. Something to look forward to.

1. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Going through the slideshow was the perfect way to knock a dull energy-sector arbitration out of my brain.

In addition to the wonderful landscapes, you have some very fine wildlife shots in there. I can easily understand why you'd want to go back.

Great stuff!

3. About the wildlife...
I didn't even realize that I had the IS turned off on the 70-200 until late Thursday afternoon, after two days of running the roads. I was having a heck of a time holding the lens steady. I won't make THAT mistake again.

5. Don't feel bad. I spent an entire sunny afternoon shooting at ISO 800
after doing some night shots a couple of days prior.

4. The next time we go back,
we're going to see the bears, for sure. You can take flight-seeing tours over to Katmai National Park, which is just across the Shelikof Strait, that land for bear viewing. I'll feel much more secure with a guide (with a gun). Those buffalo on the beach sure gave us a start, though. From a distance you would have sworn they were bears. Eek!

7. Each one is so beautiful it leaves me speechless.
Especially since I don't understand what the comments are referring to.
But that's OK.

There is lots of room to just appreciate the beauty of spectacular photos.

I'd like to explain exactly what every picture is, but then the words would cover them up. :) A picture is worth a thousand words anyway.

9. Okay, that's it, Blue
We're removing you from Alaska. No more fabulous pictures from Alaska allowed.
