IMPORTANT NOTICE re: August monthly contest

Hi all,

In case you didn't already know, I'm jethro_tull's wife. :) Since he's unable to run the next monthly contest the job has fallen to me. However, I have received word that this group is going to be crazy busy with contests already next month, given that we have a seasonal one and a calendar one slated to begin then. So I'd like to hold off on the monthly contest until September so we don't burn out our voters in GD.

I did not know that you are his wife! It has to be fun having so many talented photographers in one household!

I think holding off till September is a terrific idea...We can get burned out too, you know!

August is too hot to be that busy. A lot of people are probably going away or occupied with summer-type things anyway.

5. Are the calendar photos something that gets voted on in

GD or is it internal with the photographers? I can't remember for the life of me.

I'll reluctantly agree to let a month go by without it's own contest, because I don't have a choice.

6. I only know what was relayed to me, that August was going to be pretty busy. It'll give

everybody some extra time to come up with suggestions for the next monthly subject, at least, but I dunno how we're gonna top this last one! *puts on thinking cap*

7. Last year, GD was invite to vote

The poll was hosted on another site, but I'm sure the links were posted in GD. Don't take my word for it though and it might be done differently this year.

9. I'll be doing it the same as last year, once I've got the photos in order

the contests will be hosted on a third party site, and linked to both here and GD. Hopefully, if all goes well, the contests should be up just after the seasonal contest is over.
