Resting from doing nothing
A couple of leftovers from a bike ride. I don't think I took a single photo today. Pulled the camera out as I came across the longest lizard creature I've ever seen, but by the time I parked the bike etc. it was gone.

It occurs, I have not reported that Mom and I stupidly swam very near the pier, where fishermen were fishing.
They caught a 4 and a half foot nurse shark just about 20 feet away from us.
We are only swimming there now when the pier is empty and no bait (other than us) is in the water.

4. I would be more concerned about the hooks than the sharks
maybe that's just me

5. I love that first one
we get great white sightings around here every once in a while. I used to worry when my kid went surfing. He thought he saw a fin once. Just thinking you've seen a great white fin is enough to keep you out of the water for a few weeks.

Don't know much about nurse sharks but anything 4 1/2 ft long would give me some concern. Especially if it had teeth and was hungry.

6. I know very little. BUT
going from memory instead of googling, nurse sharks live on the bottom, have suction cups for a mouth, and do not harm humans. If they attach to a human, it has to be removed surgically.
This sounds nuts, doesn't it? I think I better do the google.

Tomorrow we're off to the Everglades.

7. Hey Mira, doing nothing is hard work!
That reminds me of a scene from the film "The Madness of King George", in which the Prince of Wales complains about the "rigors of indolence" ! ! ! :D

Your shark story made me think of the time a buddy and I hitchhiked down the eastern coast of Mexico. We found a little thatched hut in the jungle very near the beach to stay in, and were going swimming often, until one day a huge hammerhead shark washed up on the beach. After that I lost my enthusiasm for the water. :scared:
