From a photo walk last week.
Time off has been rarer than hen's teeth recently, but last week a friend of mine and I got together for a much-postponed photo walk. I've only seen a few of her shots so far, and they're good. Here are a few of mine.

1. Looks like that pole is really popular

Love the Buddha's, and imagine, a whole shop for alterations. And I'm jealous of all that color.

8. That dog was the last in the pack to get his shot at it, and he put a lot into it.
My friend was on the phone with her back turned at the time, and is miffed that she missed a chance to get a shot.

2. Love the color!
Love the black and white too.

The 2nd one though...color and a tower! I adore it!

9. Thanks! Color was very spotty, and still is as of yesterday.
Now that the heavy winds have come through, a lot of trees are pretty much bare without having gone through much color change. Damn.

3. Something great to be said for all of them
But I think you saved the best for last.

The laughing Buddhas take you straight across the photo to the skateboarders and the underpass. It's an urban delight, rather than an urban blight.

I kind of LOL at the chain on the Buddhas.

10. My friend spotted those, and went to take this shot but her battery was drained.
So I got it for her:

4. I always enjoy your
"walks around town" photos, but I'm especially drawn to the "alterations" photo. It's simplistic in the sense that at first glance we see the large sign and the gent in the window, but then looking deeper and closer, there is so much going on. The other staff, the clothing, the reflection of the buildings and power lines. Looking into this window is a snapshot of the entire street.

11. Thank you. You should have seen the look on the guy's face after I took the shot.
He was not pleased.

5. Wonderful!
That second one really catches the eye! I was just wondering where you had been and was ready to send you a PM if you didn't show up. :hi:

12. Happily, whenever I've come up for air recently, I've been shooting.
Finding time to post-process everything has been impossible lately, but I'll probably be spamming the group with new photos soon enough.:)

6. Delicious - all of them. The third one is a wonderful juxtaposition of light and
dark. The action in the sky just pops because of the still underneath, and I love the transition between the two.

Then there is the color in five. I'm glad you kept it all intact the ground is a major contributor to the story of that shot. Gorgeous. Reminds me in color of the fall photo that you won with last year.

And I take to the "Alterations" window. Nice lettering job. Big City atmosphere and feel.
A real JeffR masterpiece. I would know you took that, without a doubt.

13. Thanks, Mira!
Some amazing skies this fall, and it's been great to capture some of them.

That window was a bit of a bonus for the day, since we hadn't intended to do street photography as such. I was pleased to get it.

7. I think it's funny that the Buddhas are chained to the fence!
Nice pics, JeffR! I like them all.

14. Thanks! They reminded me of something I read years ago
along the lines of: Consider the virtues of constraint.

They not only saw constraint as virtuous, but something to smile about.
