I have a treat for Aiman's fans (you know who you are)
Kristina has posted a wonderful little video of Aiman at her blog here: http://alaskatoaustralia.wordpress.com/2010/11/28/video-of-the-week-2/

This is guaranteed to make you smile.

1. I saw it already...
because I signed up to get email alerts and she is blogging more often now.:bounce: Loved the (no mom – I don’t have meningitis! Don’t worry!)though not the reason she said it. Her headaches sound like migraines. Aiman is growing up way to fast and don't they know no little boy can walk by a puddle without stomping in it. Hell girls usually can't either.

2. The meningitis has a special significance to us
Edited on Mon Nov-29-10 03:29 AM by Blue_In_AK
because I had it in 1980 when Kristina was just three. The symptoms were a lot like she describes her headache, although magnified by several times, so I think she just wanted to assure me that it wasn't quite THAT bad. I was messed up for about a year and a half afterwards. It affected my ulnar nerve so that I couldn't do anything involving small motor coordination with my hands, no typing (which sucked, since that was my job), no playing music, and I probably couldn't have used a camera either, although I wasn't doing photography back then. I wouldn't wish meningitis on my worst enemy.

But I digress. I'm glad you've been following the blog. I think Kristina's so funny. I loved the story about the calimari.

4. Now it makes more sense

because I just never saw you as one to over worry things.Just not sure you could of raised such independent, almost fearless young adults if you had over done the worry thing. Poor kid at 3 probably has memories of it along with the stories told as she grew up. Glad you made it through, that is one of the scarier diseases out there.

She really is funny and a good writer and I'm starting to really enjoy Aiman video over photos though she needs to keep up both. Only one complaint, she needs more with her and Aiman. I'm hoping those just aren't online. Both her men are easy on the eyes and love hearing the accent but Aiman will need photos of him with mom too. OMG the calamari. Tempted to beg Riaz to find other things of a similar nature for her to cook just for the stories.

Oh and my mom has now caught up reading and all she says is, they have Aiman in an OPEN house and expect him to stay in it? She said we would of all disappeared one night while they were sleeping in a house without kid proof locks on all exits to the great outdoors. We would of been out on an adventure while everyone freaked. Course this is the woman that let her 3 kids free climb the CO Rockies whenever we were out there.

3. Aiman Fan checking in cackling
Edited on Mon Nov-29-10 08:57 AM by Mira
I have read the Calimari story, and felt for Kristina suffering from major migraines. One delighted, the other disturbed me. I can't tell you properly how much I cackled at the video of Aiman stomping the puddles. What fun that he got to do it with abandon, and even with one shoe on and one shoe off
That is of course how to learn about tactile sensations and the difference of direct versus indirect exposure to filthy water.

I surely hope the headaches are pregnancy related, that way they will eventually end. I had Migraines for decades, only triptans would help, if taken immediately on the onset, if it is a true migraine they will help tremendously with the nausea. You still feel like you are sick as a dog, but the pain is not there, a truly weird sensation.
I was never pregnant though when I needed that medication.
I hate it for her, so much, and wish this will pass quickly.

I have a happy memory of a walk I took with my friend and her granddaughter where we allowed her to splash in puddles to her heart's content. It was a year ago, she was 7, and it was in

guess where

Costa Rica/ Lake Arenal area.

I will post a photo here when I find it.

Thanks, Loved Loved the Aiman puddle video
